Course Overview


The Certificate in Hospitality Skills is designed to provide students with a basic foundation for further studies towards a career in the Hospitality Industry. The modules are designed to address key areas for students entering the industry and are a mix of both theoretical and practical skills. The qualification also acts as a progression route towards the Diploma in International Hospitality Management.

The aims of this programme are to:

  • Provide students with specialised language for Hospitality Management
  • Enable students to communicate more effectively
  • Enable students to develop an appreciation and understanding of the basic principles and practices of food and beverage service
  • Enable students to develop an appreciation and understanding of the basic principles and practices of hotel housekeeping
  • Prepare students for further studies


Requirements

  • Minimum age 17 years at time of commencement of programme
  • Min of 3 GEC ‘O’ levels (C6 or better) or equivalent
  • IELTS 4.5 or equivalent
  • Students, who have other qualifications, will be assessed on a case-by-case basis
  • Minimum English Language Entry Requirement : Equivalent qualification i.e IELTS 4.5 or equivalent
