Programme Aims
- Develop advanced teaching and instructional strategies tailored to the specific needs of Early childhood learners, Primary school learners, Secondary school learners, Special Education Needs, Physical Education, English language learners, and curriculum design for primary and secondary school levels.
- Deepen understanding of the theories, practices, and methodologies specific to each specialisation, allowing teachers-educators to become subject matter experts including special education needs and physical education.
- Equip educators with skills to create inclusive and equitable learning environments,addressing diverse needs, backgrounds of learners and the pervasive impact of education technology in a digital age.
Assessments
The modules are assessed through a work-based management report, an academic research paper, a reflective learning Log/ Journal and a practical project. The work-based management report shall be between 4,000 – 4,500 words.
Entry Requirements
The minimum entry requirements for this Bachelor of Arts in Education with named specialisations are:
- Typically, applicants should have completed a relevant Diploma or Higher Diploma in a related field to their chosen specialisation and recognized by the university. These qualifications should have a total of 120 ECTS or an equivalent of two academic years of study at a UK or European institutions.
- Demonstrate English Language proficiency in order to participate in the programme taught in English. Proficiency can be recognised based on completion of any programme with a minimum duration of 6 months and taught and assessed in the English Language or IELTS 5.0 or equivalent such as TOEFL.
- Student that has done a qualification examined in English at European Qualification Framework ( EQF) Level 3 and above would satisfy the English requirement.
- The Regulated English Test administered by ESOL Awards and accredited by the Scottish Credit Qualification Framework (SCQF) which is aligned with the CEFR grades of B1+ and above will satisfy the English Language requirement.
