This ELNEC-Core Training Course is designed to provide essential information to improve end-of-life care to nurses working in medical-surgical and oncology units, clinics, homecare, and palliative care settings.
Learning objectives
Upon completion of the Core training, participants are expected to be able to:
– Describe basics of palliative care.
– Explain management of pain and symptoms in diseases.
– Relate key components of communication with clients.
– Relate key components of self-care and ethics in palliative care.
– Explain grief, loss, and bereavement.
– Explain basics of end-of-life care.
– Assess the core skills of the nurse working with dying clients.
Requirements
Any nurse who obtained Diploma in Nursing qualification.
(Staff nurses, advanced practice nurses, undergraduate and graduate nursing faculty, administrators, and researchers who work in palliative care settings.)
