OBJECTIVES
- The world is becoming ever more interdependent and the resulting global socio-political changes affect people locally. Helping you to understand these changes and supporting you in becoming a global citizen is at the heart of the BA International Relations course. Throughout your studies, you can develop knowledge and crucial transferable skills which will be valuable in many rewarding careers.
- This degree builds on the knowledge you gained at Diploma level and reflects the flexibility of contemporary International Relations. You will study the evolution and interaction of different states and societies across the globe which will help you to understand the complexity of the modern world and you will learn how these changes affect individuals globally. Topics include the study of war, social movements, terrorism, political struggles and democratic advances and set-backs across the world. We will discuss their ethical implications with you as much as you will be introduced how these changes are being approached by foreign policy decision-makers and international organizations.
- You may choose to specialize on different areas of the world, such as the Middle East, Africa, or China. We will support your international journey with Collaborative Online International Learning projects with staff and students at Coventry University (UK).
- Recent graduates on a similar course at Coventry University are now employed in the private sector in industries ranging from marketing, human resources, banking and finance to media, and across the public sector in education, the civil service, police forces, local authorities, charities, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), and international organisations.
