Participants in our steward courses and chief cook courses will gain a piece of overall knowledge about the storage and preparation of food for large numbers of people, and develop culinary skills that they can build on, to pursue a career on board while seafaring or on land in the hotel sector.
At sea, you could begin your career as a ship’s steward and gradually become a chef.
Ashore, you can work as a chef in a star-class hotel or even start your own restaurant.
Having received a holistic understanding of the catering sector under our ship’s cook courses, participants who have completed the program will be ready to handle catering on sea-going ships and gradually work towards becoming Chief Cook on a ship.
Participants will learn to manage and utilise provisions intelligently. While learning to store food, they will also learn how to hygienically prepare food. In addition, the participants will master the art of preparing Sri Lankan delicacies.
