Objective: Understand the developmental stages of an individual and learn to deal with challenging behaviour that can disturb the teaching-learning process.

Objective: Understand various approaches to teach grammar and use them effectively.
Teaching English Grammar
Unit Six:
Objective: Understand ways of teaching/learning vocabulary and use them in the teaching / learning process.
Unit Seven:
Objective: Understand how productive skills are taught and learn to use them in teaching/ learning situations.
Unit Eight:
Objective: Understand how receptive skills are taught and learn to teach them.
Unit Nine
Objective: Understand the importance of readiness of a learner to learn and creating readiness
Unit Ten
Objective: Understand the use of techniques in fixing language.
Unit Eleven: Understand the importance and effect of using resources in helping the learner grasp the meaning and use of language.

Objective: Understand the points of articulation of sounds in the English language and the problems encountered and remedial measures

Objective: Learn to plan an effective teaching/learning process.

Assessment and Evaluation
Lectures, tutorials, lesson observations & practicum will be conducted.

Award
Upon completion of the course, students will receive the Diploma in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL).
GRADE A, PASS WITH DISTINCTION:
The trainee teacher has demonstrated considerable further reading, an ability to express original thinking and has proved to have a sound knowledge of TEFL techniques. The trainee teacher has also indicated an attitude and ability to be able to soundly develop these techniques in teaching.
GRADE B, PASS WITH CREDIT:
The trainee teacher has read more widely than the course requirements and is able to relate the theoretical issues studied to teaching.
GRADE C, PASS:
The trainee teacher has passed the course satisfactorily, has reached an adequate standard in each of the modules and has shown assimilation of the basic elements of TEFL.
