The Automobile Engineering Training Institute (AETI), commonly known as "Japan Tech," is a premier institution in Sri Lanka specializing in automobile engineering education. Established in November 1989 with assistance from the Japanese government, AETI operates under the National Apprentice and Industrial Training Authority (NAITA) of the Ministry of Youth Affairs.
AETI offers a variety of full-time courses designed to equip students with practical skills in the automotive industry. The courses typically range from 1½ to 3 years in duration and are open to individuals who have completed Grade 8 or the GCE O/L examination.
